			Family Consultation and Intervention There are different occasions in which a family finds itself at an emotional impasse where there is ongoing conflict and stagnation. At such moments a family consultation may assist in better understanding of a given family dilemma in order to determine the most sensible course of action. On occasion a formal intervention is called for in which a family system seeks assistance for a family member's addictive or psychiatric problem.
